Charlene ElizabethÕs life changed forever in 1943 when she sprang from her bed to get her doll and collapsed on the floor, her right leg folding beneath her.
It would be the last time she would spring any where.
She was taken to the hospital, diagnosed with polio, and put into isolation. No visitors were allowed. There was no telephone or television. Her grandparents were able to stand in the hall outside her door on Sundays, her father brought a stepladder to her window and visited that way.
When she returned home, after six more months in a ward, she threw herself on the couch crying. Even at her young age she knew her life would never the the same and she slipped into a serious depression that would plague her on and off for decades.
Join the author as she shares the psychological damage the can occur with a major childhood illness, or permanent injury, and how she overcame it to live a life of fulfillment.

Durable for light to medium chewers - not heavy
Color: Green Cactus
obviously cute. not super durable - lasted a good minute but disintegrates fairly quickly and eventually nothing was left - having to high monitor with a big chewer. (10 mo Great Dane)

Unbelievable toy for aggressive chewers
Color: Green Cactus
Great toy for aggressive chewers! I'm not one to hand out 5 star reviews but this one I 100% believe in. I bought the first one in 2023 and just replaced it because it broke. Now this is not a played with every once in a while, this was played with daily as it is his favorite toy. Very few toys last long but this one has went beyond my expectations. Could not be happier.

Not Recommended!
Color: Green Cactus
Be aware that with major chewers it is not durable. My dog tour right through it and was eating pieces off of it. Thankfully we got the pieces back out of his mouth but definitely not for tough chewers. Also only lasted 2 days in decent condition and was only used on the occasion throughout the day.

Not strong lasting
Color: Green Cactus
Didn’t even last 3 hours in my house. Too rubbery and our frenchie mix was able to bite pieces off and was trying to eat them. Don’t recommend as a super chewer or consider it durable

Very durable!
Color: Pink Cactus
One of the few actually tough chew toys for dogs who tear apart toys in seconds! My dog loves this thing and has yet to break into the rubber!
